EDIT: I figured out what I'm going to call my epic Luka party.

LUKAROK or LUKAGEDDON. Both have a distinct end-of-days flavor but one is Norse and the other is more general.

Hope's throwing out random titles with the word 'Luka' in them.  I like 'Luka Hell'...

Man, why are we elevating the status of our Olympic 'Heroes' over our nation's scientists and leaders, etc? In the same newspaper that I saw a 16-page spread about some athlete winning himsel a medal and a massive sponsorship deal, I saw a tiny article near the back about a researcher whose team had made leaps and bounds in a progressive flu vaccine. Christ, it baffles me.

Anyway, I have a lot to write about but it's in no particular order.

I did a lot of work at Digital Motorworks last week, and on the last day Craig said that there would definitely be more, but my supervisor was convinced I wouln't be needed until next year. Oh, how wrong she was, because not 4 days later I got a call asking if I could move onto regular shift work. Mmm, steady income, lovely. I admit the work isn't the greatest or the most challenging, but it pays well and anything to do with data entry looks good on an IT graduate's CV...aparrently. So, here's hoping I get three or so full shifts a week.

I have a love affair with Brown Cream Soda. I love it. I love the sweetness and the frosted glasses I make or it out of a regular glass dipped in water and then placed in the freeser for a few minutes. The glass gets a lovely frosted look and feel. Mmm.

Mez came down for a few days at the start of the week, which was fantastic as it's always lovely to have her around. I admit that not a lot was done, but we watched a little Arrested Development and had a tasty roast cooked by Hope, which was amazing.

The tuesday this week was pretty good too, I had lunch with a katamari of people. It started out just being Tannie, Kibs and Mina, to get some lunch and hang out and generally be lazy layabouts. Somewhere along the line we picked up Will, Fade, and KRS and two of his friends whose names I didn't catch, but who were great people. They seemed very genuine, which is nice. All in all, a great day. Lots of dumplings and chocolate and innapropriate conversation (well, the one the girls -was- a sex therapist after all. *grin*) I ate about 25 dumplings. I think I love the shanghai dumpling house. The service it shocking but nobody seems to care. :3

Hope and I are respectively running and going to a buck's night on Saturday. It won't be one in the style of the typical bucks', we're going bowling and drinking and whatnot, so it should be pretty fun. I expect I'll last until the bar, but I'll probably pass out at some point. Wish we were going to pitch'n'putt though, drunken miniature normal golf is surprisingly fun. Do I hear. *shifty eyes*

Just quickly shouting out to Alyssea, if you're reading this, I hope you're well on the road to recovery and enjoying Animania a lot. You deserve it. <3
